With Mercedes locking out the front row in qualifying, polesitter Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton were expected to duke it out between the two of them for the win in the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, but that's not how it panned out when the lights went out...

    The Silver Arrows duo made the early running at Silverstone, but Max Verstappen – the only driver in the top 10 to start on the hard compound tyres – quickly got on the tail of Hamilton in second and thereafter brilliantly managed his tyre strategy to leapfrog both Mercedes and hold the lead all the way to the flag.
