Miami Grand Prix organisers increase spectator capacity and launch 'Campus Pass' for 2023 edition
Miami Grand Prix organisers South Florida Motorsports (SFM) have increased the capacity of the Miami International Autodrome due to high demand for tickets – with expanded grandstands, new hospitality suits and an updated ‘Campus Pass' for general admission spectators.
After the success of last year’s first ever Miami Grand Prix, organisers have increased the grandstand seats for this year by 3,000 – taking the total number to 56,000. Along with that, marquee features such as The Yacht Club at the MIA Marina and the Hard Rock Beach Club spaces will be expanding for the 2023 edition.
Organisers have also added 61 new hospitality suits and two new luxury club spaces: The Vista at Turn 1, and The Boathouse at MIA Marina – while there will also be a brand-new permanent Formula 1 Paddock Club building spanning multiple levels alongside Hard Rock Stadium.
The final general admission ticket release – which goes on sale today – is an upgraded three-day General Admission ‘Campus Pass’, which will allow more fans to experience F1 and the culture of Miami through access to unique locations around the venue.
Fans will also get exclusive insight into the behind-the-scenes working of an F1 paddock from the 300 level of Hard Rock Stadium, which will look directly into the Team Village.
Team Village is one of the major updates for 2023, and will see the hospitality units of the 10 Formula 1 teams relocated to the Miami Dolphins football field in the centre of Hard Rock Stadium – where the drivers will be based across the weekend. This will be accessible to all ticket holders, including the General Admission ‘Campus Pass’ holders.
“Our first race last May was a sell-out success in which more than 240,000 spectators visited the Miami International Autodrome for an unforgettable experience,” said Tyler Epp, President of the Miami Grand Prix.
“Due to overwhelming demand, we have been maximising the venue to increase grandstand capacity, expand hospitality and to improve the experience for our General Admission Campus Pass ticket holders, to give the opportunity for even more fans to experience the incredible spectacle of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.”
He concluded: “In everything we do we are committed to providing an unparalleled fan experience to ensure Miami will be one of the must-attend races on the Formula 1 calendar for the next decade.”
The first ever Miami Grand Prix saw a boost of $350 million to the local economy, both in Miami Gardens and the wider South Florida and Greater Miami region.
The benefit to the local community is set to continue in the second edition, with organisers confirming numerous programmes, including an expanded Formula 1 in Schools programme, the commitment to work with local Miami Gardens restaurant partners, and an enhanced internship programme through the launch of MIA Academy.
