PADDOCK PASS: The drivers’ reactions after a hard-fought Hungarian GP
No one had the legs to stop polesitter Lewis Hamilton claiming a record-equalling eighth Hungarian Grand Prix, with the six-time champion and his Mercedes W11 working in perfect harmony around the 2.722-mile Hungaroring.
But as Formula 1’s first triple-header of 2020 came to a close, there were some other stirring turns, with Max Verstappen recovering from an embarrassing off on his lap round to the grid to hold off Valtteri Bottas for P2, while Haas’ Kevin Magnussen claimed P9 to take the team’s first points of the year – which became ‘point of the year’ when the Dane was demoted one position, along with team mate Romain Grosjean, after the race.
