RACE HIGHLIGHTS: All the action from a thrilling wet-dry Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola
The rain started to fall at the Imola circuit in the hour before lights out for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but once the race got started the action was anything but damp as Max Verstappen shot off the line to take the lead from third on the grid.
A Safety Car period followed on Lap 2 after Nicholas Latifi crashed heavily, and the race was red flagged at half distance when Latifi's Williams team mate George Russell had a huge crash with Mercedes' Valterri Bottas at Tamburello.
Verstappen kept his lead after the restart, while Lewis Hamilton was fighting back from down in P9 after he had gone off at Tosa and kissed the barrier with his front wing while trying to get back on track, just before the red flag.
