Converting pole to victory at the Turkish Grand Prix was just what Valtteri Bottas needed to boost his confidence, ensuring that he wouldn’t bow out at Mercedes without at least one final win before heading to Alfa Romeo next season.
Bottas had the measure of P2 finisher Max Verstappen throughout the race – while Bottas’ team mate Lewis Hamilton was left frustrated after a late decision to pit him for new intermediate tyres dropped him out of the podium positions.

Elsewhere, Carlos Sainz enjoyed a fine recovery drive to P8 after starting P19 following an engine change – while Mick Schumacher went the other way, dropping from P14 on the grid to P19 after getting spun around by Fernando Alonso on Lap 2.
