Six appeal - Williams driver Latifi chooses his 2020 race number

This year will contain many 'firsts' for Williams rookie Nicholas Latifi, and number one on the list was choosing a race number. And the Canadian has chosen to pay homage to his hometown in his choice of digits...
The 24-year-old has chosen number six as his race number because Toronto is also known as 'the six' – a term popularised, but not coined, by musician Drake. He previously ran #40 during FP1 for Williams in 2019.
In the video posted on Twitter, Latifi explains where the nickname for Toronto originates.
Latifi was the only driver yet to pick a number for the upcoming season as returnee Esteban Ocon will carry on using #31, this time for Renault, after a year on the sidelines.
The last driver to use the number six? 2016 champion Nico Rosberg, who coincidentally also began his F1 career driving for Williams.
The Canadian driver contests his first home Grand Prix on June 14. To be there yourself, click here for tickets.
