TECH TALK: The big set-up dilemma facing F1 teams at the brand-new Jeddah track
Saudi Arabia’s all-new Jeddah Corniche Circuit is being touted as the world’s fastest street circuit. But for the 10 F1 teams on the grid, that presents an intriguing set-up conundrum that they’ll need to sort in time for qualifying and the race.
With average lap speeds set to be around the 157mph mark, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is second only to Monza in terms of outright speed per lap. But while the teams try and run as low a downforce package as possible at the Italian circuit, the fast, sinewy nature of the Jeddah track means that a greater level of downforce is required.
Join F1 tech experts Sam Collins and Craig Scarborough in the video above as they talk you through that downforce level dilemma for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
