Something about the Styrian Alps air appears to do wonders for McLaren’s Lando Norris. And after taking his maiden podium at the Austrian Grand Prix seven days previously, Norris followed it up with a rousing drive to fifth at the Styrian Grand Prix – having been eighth with two laps to go.
Norris had had to overcome performance-hampering chest pains throughout his weekend in Styria. But the promise of another big haul of points saw the 20-year-old shrug off shrug off ailments in the final laps of the race, as he first profited from Lance Stroll and Daniel Ricciardo’s battle over sixth, before picking off the wounded Racing Point of Sergio Perez with just one corner of the race remaining.
Enjoy watching Norris nab fifth place in the video above, and earning enough points in the process to cement his third place in the drivers’ standings after the first two races of the 2020 season.
