Technically there is no German Grand Prix this year, but given this weekend's Eifel GP is being held at the Nurburgring, we thought that was the perfect excuse to re-live last season's brilliantly chaotic German GP.
Held at the Hockenheimring, Mercedes ran a special livery on their cars and had period costumes for the team members as they celebrated 125 years of motorsport.
But to team boss Toto Wolff's fury, it turned out to be by far their worst race of the season as Valtteri Bottas crashed out while Lewis Hamilton, hamstrung by his own trip into the barriers as well as a 50-second pit stop and a time penalty from the stewards, could do no better than 11th – though that was upgraded to ninth following post-race penalties for Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi.
There was plenty more action right throughout the field, though, as the wet weather caught out driver after driver with plenty – including Charles Leclerc, Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez – ending their race in the barriers having spun off.
