WATCH: Ride onboard with Bottas as he takes a stunning Mexico City pole position
Valtteri Bottas ensured himself a pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix with a stunning lap around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to lead a Mercedes one-two.
On Saturday, we were treated to another brilliant qualifying session but the general consensus ahead the shootout was that Red Bull had the upper hand – given Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez aced the previous two practice sessions.
But Bottas tore up the script, lapping the track at 1m15.875s to go nearly two-tenths faster than team mate Lewis Hamiliton and leaving Verstappen and Perez P3 and P4 on the grid respectively.
