WATCH: The drivers rely heavily on their brakes at high-speed Monza, so how do they work?
Monza may demand engine power, but with all that speed comes a huge amount of pressure on the brakes. In this week's episode of Tech Talk, Craig Scarborough talks stopping power with Brembo's Andrea Algeri.
Brembo have supplied brakes to multiple Formula 1 championship-winning teams including Ferrari in the 1970s and 2000s, McLaren-Honda, Red Bull and most recently Mercedes.
So, when drivers slow from 330km/h at Monza's Turn 1, how do their brakes withstand the intense heat of up to 1,200 degrees Celsius?
To find out, watch the video in the player above to learn about the incredible engineering that goes into F1 brake systems – and catch the full episode on F1 TV.
