What's the weather forecast for the 2021 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola?

Fan-favourite circuit Imola is back on the 2021 calendar and this weekend it hosts round two of the season – the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix – but what do the skies have in store for us?

Clear skies and light winds graced last year's two-day event that heralded the return of Formula 1 to Imola for the first time since 2006.

Back then, of course, Imola's race was the San Marino Grand Prix and it was there that Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher had a famous battle in 2005.

This year, there's a chance that it could rain on qualifying and race day (April 17/18) while temperatures remain cool on Friday and Saturday. Scroll down for the full forecast.

FRIDAY, April 16 – FP1 AND FP2 WEATHER
Conditions: Thick veil of high altitudes clouds spreading over the circuit from the south. No rain expected for the sessions.
Maximum temperature expected: 13 Celsius
Chance of rain: 0%

SATURDAY, April 17 – FP3 AND QUALIFYING WEATHER
Conditions: Mostly cloudy all day long and unsettled from 11am to 4pm for FP3 and qualifying. No chance of thundery showers, only sporadic and moderate if occured.
Maximum temperature expected: 13 Celsius
Chance of rain: 40%

SUNDAY, April 18 – RACE WEATHER
Conditions: Improvement with latest data. Mostly cloudy with sunny spells. Unsettled for the race but the chance pf rain remains low at this range.
Maximum temperature expected: 14 Celsius
Chance of rain: 40%
