Sergio Perez took his first ever F1 Sprint victory around the streets of Baku, powering past Charles Leclerc – who’d claimed the Sprint Pole in the Shootout earlier on Saturday. Good for the Mexican – but who were the biggest winners and losers from the 17-lap encounter on the Baku City Circuit?

Neither Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and AlphaTauri’s Nyck de Vries finished in the top eight in the Sprint – where the prizes are dished out, from eight points down to one – but those two were the biggest gainers, moving up four places in the 100-kilometre dash, finishing P13 and P14 respectively.

McLaren’s Lando Norris struggled on his soft starting tyre, forcing him to pit for mediums and dropping him from his P10 starting position to P17 at the flag – and making him the biggest loser from the Sprint, after dropping seven spots.

Having started P16, Yuki Tsunoda was the only retiree after clouting the wall early doors, while Williams’ Logan Sargeant was withdrawn from the Sprint after crashing during the Shootout.
