What is F1TV and F1 Live Timing?

F1 TV F1 TV gets you closer to the action like never before. If you have an F1 TV Pro subscription you will be able to watch live F1 sessions, catch up on replays and watch other race series such as F2, F3, Porsche Supercup. You will also unlock the biggest and best F1 archive on the planet, exclusive documentaries, and expert analysis.

Here are the live channels you will have access to:

F1 Live Our dedicated channel covering all F1, F2, F3 and Porsche Super Cup. Here you will get all the angles with expert commentary and guests*

F1 International All the live race action with commentary in your chosen local language.

If you have an F1 TV Access subscription, you won’t be able to watch the live sessions. But you will have access to replays and documentaries (country dependent, check here) and Live Timing

F1 Live Timing In Formula 1, every millisecond matters, so you need to be on top of your numbers. Live Timing on the F1 App lets you do just that!

Combined Driver Tracker & Leaderboard

• Leaderboard data presented alongside the driver-tracker map means you can easily see key driver info with the added context of where they are on the circuit. • Tap on any driver on the leaderboard to view all their times and data compared to their rivals. • It will also bring up their telemetry data (speed, gear, and throttle) in a separate view alongside the driver tracker.

All-in-one data screen – with personalisation

All drivers’ timings are now visible on the same screen, with best lap, gap, lap time and tyre usage.

Personalise the data you view without changing screen by using the rotating headers.

Do you have a Free Trial or any Offers?

You will know a Free Trial is available if you go through the purchase journey to subscribe. If a Free Trail is available in your territory it will be clearly displayed. You can only subscribe using a Free Trial once. If you have cancelled and attempt to sign up again using a Free Trial, it will not work.

Throughout the year offers are available in some markets for new subscribers only. Keep a close eye on F1.com for regular updates (particularly close to season start)

How much does a subscription to F1 TV and Live Timing cost?

There are two types of F1 TV subscription - F1TV Pro and F1TV Access.

Both subscriptions will give you to access to Live Timing. Only an F1 TV Pro subscription will give you access to live content.

You can buy either a F1 TV Monthly or Yearly subscription. The cost and availability of each subscription is dependent on your location. F1 TV does not currently offer a race pass.

Who are the F1 TV live commentators?

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept two different payment methods if you purchase directly from the Formula1.com website. These are Visa and Mastercard. UK fans may also be able to use Maestro to pay for F1 TV Access.

F1 does not accept Debit cards, Paypal, Amex or any type of pre-payment card at this time. This may change in the future so keep checking for updates

You can also purchase through a third party such as Apple and Google. These third parties will allow purchase using other payment methods.

If you decide to pay through the F1 or F1 TV app, your billing relationship will be managed by the App store. If you need support, please contact your app provider who will be able to help.

What is the difference between F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Access?

F1 TV Access does not give you access to live video, but you will get access to some on-demand content depending on where you live.

Both subscription types give you access to Live Timing

You should refer to the content schedule for a more detailed overview of what content is available in your regions, including replay availability and access to certain shows. You can access this schedule here

Is F1 TV available where I live?

F1 TV is available in many countries across the globe. There are however subtle differences in how the products operate in different countries. While in many countries F1 TV Access is available, not all countries have F1 TV Pro. This includes countries such as the UK and Germany. This is due to existing commercial agreements. There are also small differences in when replays are made available.

We are always reviewing which countries have F1 TV Pro, so keep an eye on our website. As ever the most up to date list is here

What devices can I use to watch F1 TV and Living Timing?

You can watch F1 TV using your mobile or tablet through major platforms such as Apple, Android, Roku and Amazon Fire App. You can also cast from a browser using Apple Airplay or Google Chromecast It’s also available to view on a PC through all major web browsers.

Not all models of tablet, mobile and browser are supported. The app may work, but we won’t be able to support you with any technical issues that arise.

Chromecast and Apple Airplay support on apps will be launched later in 2021.

We support a variety of devices and platforms when using any of our products. While some of our products may work if your device is not listed, we cannot guarantee performance. We also won’t be able to support you if you have problems.

How many different devices can I use?

F1 TV works best when viewing across multiple devices. This way you can view Live Timing and the live stream side by side. Therefore, you can have up to 6 devices registered at any time.

You will be able to live stream the main race on one device only. Multiple streams of the race are currently restricted

Why do you have two different apps?

Our F1 app contains a host of features including the latest news, race schedules, driver profiles and of course, Live Timing.

Our F1 TV app gets you closer to the action like never before. Can I cast (Chromecast) F1 TV to a different device?

You can cast from a browser using Apple Airplay or Google Chromecast.

Other devices may support casting but may offer an un-supported experience. Our customer service team will be not be able to support with any technical troubleshooting related to un-supported devices.

Chromecast and Apple Airplay support on apps will be launched later in 2021.

Do I need different logins for each device?

No, once you have subscribed to F1 TV, you use the same login across different devices and apps. You can even use the same login details for F1 Fantasy

How do I subscribe if my home country and banking country are different to the country I am trying to subscribe from?

You can’t. In order to purchase F1 TV you must be based in the country you intend to use the service and have payment details originating from the same country.

Can I download content to watch later?

F1 TV does not support download of content.

What languages do you support and how do I change it?

F1 TV supports English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, and Portuguese (Web only). You can change the broadcast language commentary on the video player.

If you are using a web browser, you will see a mechanical wheel. If you click this, you will be able change the language.

If you scroll down on the F1 TV Web page you can also toggle the page language. If you do this, the player language will automatically default to your chosen commentary language

If you are using the F1 TV app, you will need to select the microphone icon to change the language settings.

Formula 1 reserve the right to remove or add supported languages and commentary at any time.

What content can I get on F1 TV?

In addition to the live content on F1 TV Pro and replays with F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Access, there is a vast array of content for F1 TV on both subscription packages, including some of the following:

Can I travel and use F1 TV?

What is the maximum streaming quality and how do I change it?

If you are viewing F1 TV via a web browser your streaming quality will default to Auto. This means that you are getting the optimal streaming quality based on your internet connection.

You can change this if you wish. You can stream in 480 x 270 (Auto), 512 x 288, 640 x 360, 960 x 540, 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080.

F1 TV via web browser will broadcast up to 50fps.

If you are experiencing buffering, we recommend changing your streaming quality.

Please note that streaming quality can be impacted by the time of day, bandwidth, internet provider, applications running on your device and the number of devices connected.

What content is on the archive?

The F1 TV archive is a selection of some of the best F1 races of recent decades, from dominant drives and masterful wins, to nail-biting finales and unexpected winners. And if we don’t have your favourite yet, never fear – this section is growing all the time.

While a lot of the archive content will include race commentary, digitising archived content takes time as we not only need to use reels and tapes, but also need to search for commentary and sync with the video. We continue to work with our broadcast partners around the world to acquire archive commentaries in different languages and we are constantly adding archive races and attempt to put key highlights up initially followed by the full race where possible.

Can I view the race weekend schedule?

You can view the race weekend schedule at F1.com and you’ll be able to toggle between ‘Your Time’ and ‘Track Time’ or alternatively head over to F1TV.com, select the race weekend you’re interested in and scroll down to the schedule. It will default to your local time

Do you support users with disabilities?

The F1 app, F1 TV app/web complies with WCAG AA standard accessibility guidelines. When viewing live content, you will be able to access subtitles in English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese the majority of the time.

How do I stop my subscription from automatically renewing?

If you are subscribing through the F1 TV app, your subscription and billing relationship are managed by the appropriate App store. If you need support, please contact your app provider who will be able to help.

How do I request a refund?

If you are subscribing through the F1 TV app, your subscription and billing relationship are managed by the appropriate App store. If you believe you are due a refund, please contact your app provider who may be able to help. Our customer services team will not be able to support with these questions.

How do I create an F1 account and purchase F1 TV

F1 APP

Open the F1 app (red logo and white background). Select more in the bottom right hand side of the screen. Create your account. Once done, you can then select Subscribe. Follow the in app instructions

F1 TV APP

Open the F1 TV app (white logo and red background). Select the burger menu in the top left hand side of the screen. Hit subscribe and follow the in app instructions.

How do I change, upgrade or remove my subscription?

If you are subscribing through the F1 TV app, your subscription and billing relationship are managed by the appropriate App store. If you need support, please contact your app provider who will be able to help

Can I use my same login credentials for different F1 products?

Yes - you use your F1 TV login details for F1 Fantasy, F1.com and all F1 TV/F1 apps

Can I watch F1 TV on multiple platforms (web and apps)

Yes, however you will only be able to play one live stream on one of your devices at a time. Other devices can then show Live Timing data to complete your experience.

How do I apply a voucher code?

You will not be able to use a voucher code if you are purchasing F1 TV via an App Store.

How do I remove a device?

Removing a device is easy. Follow these steps:

  1. Head to F1TV.com here and hit login.
  2. Sign in with your e-mail address and Password.
  3. Select the person icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  4. Select ‘Manage Account’
  5. Select ‘My Subscriptions’
  6. Scroll down to ‘Devices’ and select Edit.
  7. Select ‘Remove Device’

How do I reset my password?

You can re-set your password by following these simple steps:

  1. Head to F1TV.com here and select ‘Login’.
  2. You will then be sent an e-mail to the registered e-mail on your account. If you don’t receive this, please check you spam folder. If it’s not there, you will need to contact Customer Service to check the details on your account as we may have an incorrect e-mail address for you.
  3. Once you receive your e-mail, you’ll need to use the password when signing in. You will then be promoted to change your password to one you can remember.
  4. Avoid copying and pasting as additional characters might be included

Ensure you complete your password change immediately to avoid it expiring.

How do log into my F1 account?

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Head to F1TV.com here and select ‘Login’.
  2. Sign in with your e-mail address and Password.

Technical

I can’t login

Please follow the steps below depending on what error message you are receiving

Incorrect Username or Password

  1. You will need to re-set your password. You can do this by going to the sign in page and selecting the option “Forgotten Password” below the password box
  2. You’ll be sent an e-mail to the registered e-mail on your account. If you don’t receive this, check you spam folder. If its not there, you will need to contact Customer Service to check the details on your account as we may have an incorrect e-mail address for you
  3. Once you receive your e-mail, you’ll need to use the password when signing in. You will then be promoted to change your password to one you can remember.
  4. If you‘re still having issues, your account may be blocked. You will need to contact our Customer service team. We will need your IP address to check details within your account. Please have this ready to go, state the error message and advise the agent that you have already attempted to re-set your password. You can find out your IP address here.

Something went wrong

  1. You will need to clear the cache and cookies from your internet browser and then attempt to login using Incognito mode.
  2. If you are still receiving the message your account may be blocked, you will need to check your connection methodology. We won’t be able to unblock your account if you are using a VPN or any other type of hosted environment.
  3. If you have checked your connection and are still receiving the same error message You will need to contact our Customer Service team. We will need your IP address to check details within your account. Please have this ready to go, state the error message and advise the agent that you have already attempted to re-set your password. You can find out your IP address here.

I am receiving an error message/code when playing content

There are several error messages that you may see when attempting to play content. Please check your account first before contacting customer service via general@en.formula1.com.

Subscribe to Watch: This means you do not have an active subscription on your account. You will need to either buy a subscription or double check that you are logging in using the correct email address. You can purchase a subscription here. If you are sure you have a valid subscription, please try logging out and then back in again.

Upgrade to Watch This means you have a subscription on your account, but the subscription you have will not allow you to access certain features. You can check what subscription you have by logging in here. You can then check what features you have access to in relation to your location here.

Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this plan because of your previous purchase history or you are in a territory that is not valid for this selection. This means you are attempting to purchase from a country which is different from the country where you originally purchased your subscription. You may also receive this message if you are attempting to purchase a Free Trial when you have had one previously.

If you have received an error code. Check the code against the list below. In some circumstances you may need to contact our customer service team for further assistance via general@en.formula1.com.

If you are receiving any of the error messages that are in bold. our customer service team will already be aware of the issue. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide any meaningful support with resolving these issues until our technical engineers have worked through the issue. You can refer to our Service status page here for the further details but would advise not to contact customer service for these types of issues.

ER2001, ER2002, ER2003, ER2004, ER2005, ER2006, ER25XX You'll need to sign out of your account and sign in again.

ER9001, ER9002, ER9003 We are currently experiencing some technical issues. Please refer to our status page here for updates.

BMXXXX Try refreshing your page or restarting your browser. Try another browser. If this is unsuccessful, contact our Customer Service Team via general@en.formula1.com

ER999 There is problem with your internet connection. Check your connected to the internet and see if there are and local issues with you ISP. Please also check if you can access content using a mobile 3G/4G connection. If you can and also have no confirmed issues with your ISP, please contact our Customer Services Team

404 The page you are trying to reach is no longer available. Contact our Customer Service Team via general@en.formula1.com so they can investigate.

I cannot see my subscription in “My Account”

You will need to make sure you are logged in to view the subscription type that you have. If you are logged in and are unable to see the subscription you have, it could be work clearing your cookies, closing your browser and/or app and try again.

On a small number of occasions, the subscription you purchased on the app store may not have successfully transferred to our payment system. You should select the ‘restore purchase’ function from the app. If this does not work, please contact our customer services team.

I can’t change the video quality on my iOS app.

You iOS app will manage the quality of the stream for you by using adaptive bitrate. This means that you will always get the highest streaming quality that your connection will allow.

I am receiving the ‘Closed Captions + SDH is enabled’ error message on my iOS device, and I can’t watch the Live Stream.

You will need to make that your device has Closed Captions + SDH turned off. You turn this off follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings, navigate to Accessibility and open
  2. Open Subtitles & Captioning
  3. Ensure Closed Captions +SDH are turned off

I can’t see an onboard camera

On some occasions onboard cameras are unavailable for operational reasons. The screen will be slated. This means there will be a hold image instead of a live broadcast.

If the onboard camera view has a message displayed, you can check @F1Help on Twitter for the latest updates. Most onboards will be available from the next F1 live session

I can’t hear the commentary

Sometimes there can be a short delay at the start of a live session. Please wait five minutes before raising this as an issue with our Customer Service team via geberal@en.formula1.com. Please check @F1Help on Twitter for the latest updates

My payment is not being accepted

Please check that you are using a valid card.

We currently only accept three different payment methods if you purchase directly through Formula 1. These are Visa and Mastercard. In the UK we also accept Maestro.

F1 does not accept Debit cards, Paypal, Amex or any type of pre-payment card.

You may wish to sign up to a third party such as Apple and Google. These third parties may allow purchase using other payment methods.

You should also check that the card you are using is issued in the same country from which you are subscribing.

Make sure that you have International transactions activated and double check you’ve entered the card details correctly. If you are based in the USA please double check your Zip-code

The video keeps freezing/buffering

If you are experiencing buffering, we recommend changing your streaming quality.

Please note that streaming quality can be impacted by the time of day, bandwidth, applications running on your device, internet provider and the number of devices connected.

You should have a minimum connection speed of 7mps.

Make sure your computer or device is up to date with the latest patches (and your video card’s drivers are current).

Turn off hardware acceleration. This can cause choppy video playback and Increase your virtual memory. This can improve video playback.

There is a problem with a piece of content

Immediately following a live broadcast there may be a short delay between conclusion of an event and the content being uploaded. Please allow up to 30 minutes before contacting.

If a piece of content has problems with audio or picture, please first checked whether the same issues occur on another device. If that is the case, please contact our Customer Services team who will be happy to help. Please make a note of the content and take any appropriate screenshots. Our agents will not be able to apply an immediate fix for these kinds of issues, so please email our customer service team via general@en.formula1.com

I did not get sent a code to authorise payment?

When making a payment your issuing bank may complete additional checks to authorise the payment. This may include sending you a text message to the telephone number they hold for you.

If this is not received, please contact your bank. Our Customer Service team will not be able to resolve this issue for you.

My app isn’t working as expected.

You should first check whether you are on the latest version of our app, by checking the relevant app store.

You should also make sure you have downloaded the app on a supported device. Not all models of tablet, mobile and browser are supported. The app may work, but we won’t be able to support you with any technical issues that arise.

I am not receiving my ‘reset password e-mail’

Your e-mail may be going to your spam or trash folder. Please check there first. If you are unable to find it. You will need to contact our Customer Service team via general@en.formula1.com. We may have an incorrect email address in our system.

My voucher code isn’t working

Voucher codes are only available to new subscribers.

If you can’t use your promo code or voucher, try one of these tips:

• Check that you’re typing in the right case – our promo codes and vouchers are case sensitive • Check you’re using the right characters – for example, the number ‘0’ instead of the letter ‘O’, ‘1’ instead of ‘I’ • Check that you have selected the correct product that the voucher is valid for • Ensure payment details are saved before applying the voucher • Check your promo code is still valid – and that you can use it for F1 TV • Check the Terms and Conditions for your promo code. Promo codes can be only used for new subscriptions and can only be redeemed via the F1 TV website.

Vouchers cannot be redeemed for purchases via any of the App Stores.
