Dennis Hauger scored his second win of the 2023 FIA Formula 2 season, leading every lap en route to victory at the Hungaroring.

The MP Motorsport and Red Bull Junior Team driver started from second on the grid but didn’t waste any time, diving down the inside of pole-sitter Kush Maini at the first corner for the race lead.

From there, the Norwegian never looked back, controlling his pace out front and managing his medium Pirelli tyres expertly to maintain the gap to those behind.

Ayumu Iwasa took an important podium finish with P2 in the Sprint Race, climbing up the order from sixth on the grid and securing the fastest lap point along the way. He closed the gap to championship leader Frederik Vesti, who finished outside of the points in ninth.

Oliver Bearman earned his first podium since his Barcelona Feature Race win. The PREMA Racing driver made a late pass on Theo Pourchaire to take the final spot on the rostrum, keeping his team mate in the lead of the drivers’ championship by a single point in the process.

The race was one of patience as everyone looked to save as much tyre life as possible for the latter stages of the race. Jehan Daruvala, Maini, Victor Martins and Isack Hadjar rounded out the points.
