Force India to delay introduction of 2015 car
Force India have confirmed that they will not introduce their new car until the second pre-season test of the year in Spain.
The Silverstone-based squad, who are set to unveil a new livery in Mexico on Wednesday, will instead run their 2014 machine at the opening test in Jerez from February 1-4, with the new Mercedes-powered VJM08 set to make its public debut in Barcelona on February 19.
Force India, who will field Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez in an unchanged driver line-up in 2015, are the first - and as yet only - team to reveal a delay on the introduction of their new car, though it's not uncommon for squads to favour extra development time over early track running in a bid to gain an advantage.
As it stands, McLaren - who finished one place ahead of Force India in fifth in the 2014 constructors' standings - will be the first team to reveal their 2015 car, with the Woking squad set to take the covers off the Honda-powered MP4-30 on January 29.Dhabi test last year.
