MUST-SEE: Unseen footage shows how Verstappen suffered 'instantaneous puncture' in Imola
For the first time ever, 2020 has featured three Italian races – and unfortunately for Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, he’s retired from all of them. In Sunday’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix he looked on course for a second-place finish at worst, before suffering from what team boss Christian Horner described as an ‘instantaneous puncture’.
Verstappen indicated afterwards that he’d had no warning something might be amiss with his right-rear tyre, with both Horner and Pirelli boss Mario Isola suggesting debris might have been to blame for the spectacular end to the Dutchman’s race.
