A thrilling qualifying session saw the run extend to four different teams taking pole position in the last four races, and sets up the Spanish Grand Prix beautifully for a competitive battle. So here are the key areas to keep an eye on when the lights go out on race day in Barcelona…

1. Norris vs Verstappen

The competitive picture had looked extremely close throughout practice but Max Verstappen then rose to the top during qualifying and appeared to have a slight advantage over the rest of the field. His final Q3 lap put him over 0.3s clear, but then came a stunning finale from Lando Norris who took the second pole position of his career.
