Schumacher's sedation reduced
Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher is gradually being brought out of his induced coma, his manager confirmed on Thursday.
“Michael's sedation is being reduced in order to allow the start of the waking up process which may take a long time,” read a statement released on behalf of the Schumacher family.
Schumacher, 45, has been kept in an induced coma in Grenoble's University Hospital in France since falling and hitting his head on a rock during a family ski trip in December.
"The family of Michael Schumacher is again requesting to respect its privacy and the medical secret, and to not disturb the doctors treating Michael in their work," added the statement.
"At the same time, the family wishes to express sincere appreciation for theworld wide sympathy."
