MUST-SEE: Leclerc dramatically crashes out of Azerbaijan GP Qualifying
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc suffered a dramatic crash around the streets of Baku during Qualifying.
Charles Leclerc's day came to an early end as he drove head-on into the barrier during Qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, cutting his streak of pole positions at the Baku circuit short.
Attempting to claim his fifth consecutive pole in Baku as Q3 got under way, the Ferrari driver carried too much speed into Turn 15, where he had low grip and locked up before finding the barrier. The red flag came out, halting the session with Williams' Carlos Sainz unexpectedly at the top of the timesheets.
Conditions had been tricky around the circuit throughout the weekend, but a short, light shower added an extra challenge and made the surface even more slippery, leaving Leclerc with no way to avoid the wall.
His crash was the fifth of the session, with Alex Albon, Nico Hulkenberg, Franco Colapinto and Ollie Bearman all similarly damaging their cars and causing red flags earlier on.
