After a dramatic qualifying session on Saturday, we were set for a mixed-up grid for Sunday's 2023 Miami Grand Prix – and with that came plenty of drama.
When the lights went out, pole-sitter Sergio Perez led Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso through the first corner while, at the back, Nyck de Vries locked up and tapped McLaren's Lando Norris. Norris's team mate Oscar Piastri was, meanwhile, the biggest gainer as he made up five places on the opening lap.

As for Kevin Magnussen – who was starting P4 – he lost two places in his Haas as Pierre Gasly and George Russell scythed past.
Max Verstappen lost a place from P9 but made that back quickly enough, while home hero Logan Sargeant picked up front wing damage and was forced to pit on Lap 3.
