Formula 1 is all set to return to Albert Park for the first time since 2019. The circuit has been sorely missed by fans and drivers alike, but what happened on the last occasion we saw Formula 1 cars race around the streets of Melbourne?
The last winner of the Australian Grand Prix was Valtteri Bottas, then of Mercedes. The Finn overtook former team mate Lewis Hamilton at the start of the race and then went on to seal his first win of the season.
Hamilton went on to finish in second place, just ahead of a charging Max Verstappen – who after going past Sebastian Vettel for third chased down the Brit until the final lap, but couldn't overtake the Mercedes driver.

This race was also the first for Daniel Ricciardo as a Renault driver. Unfortunately for the Aussie and his adoring home fans, he lost his front wing at the start and would later have to retire. The 2019 race also saw the debut of future stars George Russell, Lando Norris and Alex Albon, meanwhile...
