Kimi Antonelli lit up the timing screens to claim a history-making Sprint Qualifying pole position at the Miami Grand Prix.
In what proved to be a hotly-contested Sprint Qualifying, 18-year-old Antonelli kept his cool to deliver a stunning 1m 26.482s lap to become the youngest driver ever to start an F1 race from pole. The Italian will start Saturday’s race alongside championship leader Oscar Piastri, who was a mere 0.045s adrift of Antonelli's benchmark.
McLaren’s Lando Norris and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will share the second row with Mercedes' George Russell fifth, ahead of the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
