WATCH: Ride along with Max Verstappen for the fastest lap of Friday practice in Belgium
His day may have ended in a crash at Malmedy, but Max Verstappen still managed to set the pace on the opening day of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
Verstappen was runner-up in FP1 behind Valtteri Bottas but shot to P1 in the following session with a soft-shod qualifying lap of 1m44.472s.
It was a close chase in FP2, however, with Bottas just 0.041s behind the Dutchman and championship rival Lewis Hamilton 0.072s behind Verstappen to complete the top three.
Watch the searing lap of Spa in the video player above and, for another mesmerising piece of footage, ride along with Fernando Alonso with immersive visor-cam footage putting you behind the wheel of his Alpine on Friday.
