Charles Leclerc proved the man to beat on Friday afternoon, as the Ferrari driver set the fastest time in the second practice session at the Spanish Grand Prix.
As the teams ran their qualifying simulations on the soft tyre, Leclerc produced the quickest lap of the day, setting a time of 1m 19.670s, as the championship leader led the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton by 0.117s and 0.204s respectively. Leclerc’s team mate Carlos Sainz was a further 0.336s behind in P4.
