The announcement that Valtteri Bottas will join Alfa Romeo for 2022 on a multi-year deal means that the Finn’s fifth season with Mercedes will be his last. But there have been plenty of highlights with the Silver Arrows along the way.
Having joined the team in 2017, Bottas will leave Mercedes having taken all nine of his Formula 1 wins with the squad, along with 17 pole positions and 45 additional podium places – with Bottas doubtless hoping to add a few more memories with the team before he leaves at the end of 2021.
For now, though, hit play in the video up top to look back at some of Bottas’ greatest Mercedes moments, including his maiden win at the 2017 Russian Grand Prix, a selection of his searing pole positions, and of course his most famous line: “To whom it may concern…”
