WEEKEND WARM-UP: Can anyone stop Verstappen and Red Bull under the Singapore lights?

Formula 1 heads to Singapore as the final flyway sequence of the season gets under way, and our Weekend warm-up crew are here to discuss all the talking points at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull arrive in the city-state on the crest of a wave, with the Dutchman winning the last 10 events on the bounce and the team looking to extend a perfect, 14 out of 14 record for the season.

IT’S RACE WEEK: 5 storylines we’re excited about ahead of the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix

Is there anything the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin and McLaren can do to halt Verstappen’s charge? Or could the reigning double world champion face an internal challenge from team mate and last year’s race winner, Sergio Perez?

What’s certain is that the intense Singapore climate and unforgiving Marina Bay circuit pose one of the toughest challenges on the F1 calendar, with even the slightest lapse in concentration or minor mistake set to be punished.

Elsewhere, there’s some news to celebrate for Zhou Guanyu, who will remain with Alfa Romeo for a third successive season, leaving just the two AlphaTauri seats and one Williams cockpit yet to be confirmed for the 2024 campaign.
