Has there been a more hotly anticipated new track in recent memory than Miami? Or is it just that after a wet and chilly Imola, the drivers and teams were exceptionally excited for a visit to the Sunshine State? Either way the paddock is buzzing ahead of the inaugural Miami Grand Prix.
With so many unknowns, the F1 circus has descended on Miami ready to put the hard work in for on-track performance, while making sure there is plenty of time for off-track activities. The atmosphere is carnival-like already, and that’s before Part V of the Max Verstappen/Charles Leclerc battle commences.
The Dutchman triumphed last time out and has cut his rival’s lead in the standings, but underestimate Leclerc at your peril. He made a rare error in Imola, and he knows he can’t have too many of those if he is to remain in the fight for a maiden title this season.

But before the action kicks off, there is much discussion as to the track itself – who it will favour, how fast it will be and how much overtaking might be on the cards for Sunday.
