What tyres will the teams and drivers have for the 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix?

Formula 1 has arrived in Italy for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix this weekend – and Pirelli have confirmed the tyres that will be in play.
F1’s official tyre supplier have brought the C3, C4 and C5 compounds to the historic Imola venue, the softest from their range, and the same selection used for the Australian Grand Prix.

Drivers will get two sets of the hard tyre (marked white), three sets of the medium tyre (marked yellow), and eight sets of the soft tyre (marked red), as well as the green intermediate tyre and the blue full wets, should they be required.

The three softest compounds being in play could lead to more strategic options during the race, which has traditionally been a one-stop, reinforced by the track holding one of the biggest pit lane time losses of the year.
According to the Italian manufacturer, “the track is not particularly hard in terms of the forces exerted on the tyres, even if the asphalt is still relatively abrasive”, despite the most recent resurfacing work dating back to 2011.
Formula 2 and Formula 3 will also be back in action at Imola, with the F2 field using the supersoft and medium compounds, and the F3 grid running only the medium rubber.
