After a lacklustre qualifying saw him knocked out at the Q2 stage, Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel found himself starting the inaugural Russian Grand Prix down in 10th place. That left him in the thick of the action on a frantic first lap, during which he made a lightning getaway, passed (and was then repassed by) several cars and then became embroiled in a terrific wheel-to-wheel squabble with Toro Rosso stable mate - and home favourite - Daniil Kvyat over eighth.
