McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown will try and channel his inner Lando Norris/Daniel Ricciardo when he heads to Zandvoort to compete in the GT4 European Series on June 18-20.

Brown, known more for his historic racing exploits, will saddle up a McLaren 570S run by his own United Autosports team, with his fellow owner of the squad Richard Dean set to co-drive on a one-off outing in the series. Brown has previously driven McLaren GT machinery in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the British GT championship.

The pair will race at Zandvoort for round three of the GT4 European Series, with the re-configured circuit then set to host Formula 1 a few months later when the Dutch Grand Prix returns for the first time since 1985 on September 3-5.

“I’m so excited to be getting back behind the wheel of a race car at Zandvoort,” said Brown, whose McLaren F1 team currently sit third in the constructors’ standings, having taken two podiums so far this season.

“I have tested with the team in our McLaren a couple of times now and I’m so ready to head to Zandvoort to see what we can do. It will be nice to return to modern day racing, having focused on my historic racing for the last few years… and I can’t wait to get back on track.”

Ahead of his own racing return, Brown will now turn his attention to this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where he’ll be hoping for his McLaren team to follow up their Monaco Grand Prix podium with another trip to the rostrum on the streets of Baku.
