PADDOCK PASS: We round up the drivers’ reactions as the 2020 season draws to a close
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen winning the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was certainly not in the script, given that Mercedes have dominated both the race at Yas Marina for the past six years, and the 2020 season as a whole.
But that’s just what Verstappen did, taking an imperious second victory of the campaign as the curtain came down on 2020. Emotions were running high in the paddock in the aftermath of the race, meanwhile, as McLaren claimed P3 in the constructors’, while a number of drivers said their farewells to their current teams – the likes of Carlos Sainz, Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo – while other drivers called time on their F1 careers completely.
