BAHRAIN, BAHRAIN - DECEMBER 03: Romain Grosjean of France and Haas F1 puts up two of his bandaged

Without doubt one of the most dramatic moments of the 2020 Formula 1 season was Romain Grosjean's fiery crash on the opening lap of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The race had only just got underway when Frenchman speared into a barrier before his Haas car burst into flames. He was able to pull himself out of the cockpit as marshals and the Medical Car crew came to his aid.

He was taken to hospital where X-rays confirmed he had escaped without any fractures, though he had suffered burns on his hands.

Since the crash in late November, Grosjean has kept fans updated on his condition on his social media channels, explaining how his doctors were managing the dressings needed to protect his burnt hands, with his left more severely affected than his right.

On Sunday he revealed he had had a whole day without dressing on his hands, writing on his Twitter feed: "Full day with no dressing. Bloody hell it feels good. So easy to forget how good our bodies are when working well! Back into dressing for the night before meeting my surgeon tomorrow to check the progress!"

And it appears the medics were happy with his progress as on Monday he posted another update. He wrote: "No more dressing for my left hand," with a line of champagne bottle emojis and a promise of a picture soon.

That picture came on Tuesday afternoon, as you can see in the Tweet above.

It's great news for the 34-year-old, who left the Haas team at the end of last season after five years with the American outfit.
