FIRST LOOK: Williams reveal striking new livery ahead of 2020 season opener

When the Williams FW43 hits the track in Formula 1’s revised season opener in Austria next Friday, it will do so sporting a striking new white and two-tone blue livery…
Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams signalled the British outfit’s intention to tweak their look following the early end to their relationship with title sponsor Rokit, which was revealed last month, and today the team unveiled the new design.
The red has gone completely, leaving a predominantly white livery with bands of navy and baby blue flowing through the car.

Williams are on the look out for new sponsors, while also continuing their review of the strategic investment options available to the team.
In the interim, they have opted to give their existing sponsors – such as Sofina and Acronis – greater coverage on their car livery, while Lavazza receives large branding on the driver overalls.
It is believed the move has been designed as a gesture of goodwill in reaction to current coronavirus climate, which has until now prevented racing and reduced the return for sponsors.
Williams finished last in the constructors' championship this year, but appeared to show progress during pre-season testing to suggest they may be able to close up to the back of the pack when racing gets going again in Austria.
