Racing Point set February date for 2019 reveal

First Ferrari, now Racing Point. The team formerly known as Force India have become the second F1 team to announce launch plans for 2019, revealing they will hold a season presentation event at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto on February 13.
It is anticipated Racing Point will reveal their livery for the upcoming season just five days before pre-season testing begins at Barcelona, as well as a possible new identity. Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer recently told our podcast, Beyond The Grid, that a name change could still be on the cards - although it will require the approval of the F1 commission.
Canada is home to billionaire Lawrence Stroll, who led the consortium that rescued Force India from administration in August. His son Lance, who races under the Maple Leaf, will drive for the outfit in 2019 having spent his first two seasons in F1 with Williams.
Racing Point finished seventh in the constructors’ championship in 2018, an impressive feat considering they accumulated their points tally from just nine Grands Prix.
Their launch will take place two days before Ferrari unveil their 2019 challenger.
You can hear Otmar Szafnauer talk at length about Racing Point's future, including their desire to build a new factory, on his episide of Beyond The Grid. Listen in the player below, by Apple Podcasts, Spotify or your favourite podcast app.
