Unwell Lance Stroll misses FP3 as Racing Point say ‘his condition will be assessed’ before qualifying

Racing Point ran just one car in final practice for the Eifel Grand Prix on Saturday morning after Lance Stroll sat the session out as he was “not feeling 100%”.
The Canadian, like all his rivals, didn’t turn a wheel on Friday as practice was cancelled because foggy conditions prevented the medical helicopter from flying at the Nurburgring.

Brighter, but cold, conditions greeted the teams on Saturday, allowing one hour of practice to take place as scheduled at 11am local time, but only Sergio Perez took to the track for Racing Point.
The team tweeted: “Lance Stroll is not feeling 100% this morning and will therefore not participate in FP3. His conditions will be assessed after the session to evaluate whether he is fit to drive, at which point the team will confirm plans for qualifying.”

Nico Hulkenberg is set to be at the Nurburgring for broadcasting duties on Saturday, providing his PCR Covid-19 test returns a negative result.
The German stood in for Perez at both Grands Prix at Silverstone this year, and would be an obvious replacement for Stroll, should the Canadian be unable to take part in qualifying.
The rules dictate that Hulkenberg would be able to replace Stroll at this late stage and drive the car for the first time in qualifying, providing the FIA give him special dispensation.
