Michael Schumacher had many championship battles thoughout his Formula 1 career, fighting the likes of Jacques Villeneuve, Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso for title honours.
But the German's first real rival was Damon Hill, when both men were gunning for the crown in 1994.
Schumacher and his Benetton team were busy upsetting the established order of F1, while Hill had become something of an unlikely contender after stepping up to lead the Williams team following Ayrton Senna's tragic death.
And the classic race we've got for you today – the 1994 Japanese Grand Prix – shows that rivalry as it was reaching its crescendo. It had everything: the superb Suzuka track, changeable weather conditions, red flags, and two drivers giving it everything on track to beat the other.
