F1 REWIND: Watch highlights of two of Niki Lauda’s best races
On May 20 2019, the world mourned the loss of three-time world champion Niki Lauda, and exactly a year on, we decided the best way to honour the great man was to remember some of his finest performances behind the wheel.
So in the video above we have highlights of two of his best races for you: the 1984 Portuguese Grand Prix and the 1985 Dutch Grand Prix.
The first was a race he didn't actually win – he came second that day to his McLaren team mate Alain Prost – but second was all he needed to clinch his third and final championship by the thinnest of margins.

And the second was the last hurrah for the old warrior – his final F1 victory in his last season in the sport before he bowed out with 25 wins and three world championship titles.
