Odds and betting lines for the 70th Anniversary GP – Who’s good value for fastest lap?

Share
NORTHAMPTON, ENGLAND - AUGUST 02: Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain driving the (44) Mercedes AMG

Who’s the favourite to take victory at the inaugural 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone? How about the favourite to take pole position, fastest lap, or even the odds of a Safety Car appearing? Here are the latest odds for the fifth race of the 2020 season, as provided by 188BET.COM…

188BET's odds are presented in decimal form – so for every $1 wagered you would win the figure represented by the odds; if Lewis Hamilton is favourite at 1.10, you would win $1.10 for every dollar bet.

What are the odds for the win?

Unsurprisingly, following his victory at the British Grand Prix, it’s Lewis Hamilton who leads the betting as he did last week, while team mate Valtteri Bottas’ odds have lengthened a touch, after Hamilton looked to have the Finn in check around Silverstone.

Alexander Albon, Charles Leclerc 51.0
Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Lando Norris, Sebastian Vettel 67.0

What are the odds for fastest in qualifying?

Another shortening of the odds for Hamilton here, who leads the way, while Bottas’ odds lengthen once again, after the Finn was unable to get within three-tenths of his pole-sitting team mate in Q3 for the British Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc’s odds have shortened significantly from last week, however, after the Monegasque was able to extract some respectable one-lap pace from his Ferrari SF1000.

Lewis Hamilton 1.25
Valtteri Bottas 3.50
Max Verstappen 9.00
Charles Leclerc 51.0
Lance Stroll, Alex Albon 67.0

What are the odds for a podium finish?

With Leclerc having scored his second podium of 2020 last time out at Silverstone – albeit one which he admitted was a touch lucky – it’s no surprise to see him with short odds here, tied with Racing Point’s Lance Stroll despite the Canadian’s struggles for race pace at the British Grand Prix.

Note the short-ish odds of Nico Hulkenberg too, who holds the infamous record of most F1 race starts without a podium.

Lewis Hamilton 1.10
Valtteri Bottas 1.15
Max Verstappen 1.50
Charles Leclerc, Lance Stroll 4.50
Alex Albon 5.50
Lando Norris 8.50
Carlos Sainz 9.00
Sebastian Vettel 11.0
Nico Hulkenberg 17.0
Daniel Ricciardo 41.0

What are the odds for fastest lap?

A hotly contested category, this, with Mercedes, Red Bull and McLaren all having taken the extra bonus point for fastest lap across the first four races of 2020 so far. It was Verstappen who managed it last time out, meaning his odds have shortened slightly, the Dutchman on a par with Bottas.

Lewis Hamilton 2.60
Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen 3.50
Alex Albon 15.0
Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris 21.0
Lance Stroll 23.0
Charles Leclerc, Nico Hulkenberg 29.0
Sebastian Vettel 34.0

What are the odds for which team will take the most points?

At first glance, you’d think this category would be a walkover for Mercedes. But it's worth noting that, due to Bottas' tyre issues dropping him out of the top 10 at the British Grand Prix, Red Bull scored just two points less than the Silver Arrows at Silverstone last week, while Renault were only a further three points behind that.

Mercedes 1.05
Red Bull 7.00
Ferrari 29.0
Racing Point, McLaren 34.0
Renault 301
Alfa Romeo, AlphaTauri, Haas, Williams 901

What are the odds for a Safety Car intervention?

Silverstone maintained its 100% record of witnessing Safety Cars since 2012 at the 2020 British Grand Prix, with two last weekend – meaning that six have been seen in the last two races held at this track. Unsurprisingly, then, the odds have shortened since last week for another outing for Bernd Maylander.
